Our Science experiments

A couple of weeks ago our teacher brought in this book no one knew what it was, she opened and her face lit up then she told us "it's a Science book" we all screamed and cheered and now this week on Friday (19th of November) we got to choose some of our very own experiments. We got into groups and she called us up 1 by 1 after everyone chose we had to plan and prepare, The experiments we chose were: a "Fizzy Fruit Drink" which all it is is baking soda, an orange, sugar and a glass, once I make it I'll tell you how to, and the second is "Baked Ice-Cream", now I don't really know how this works but once again when I make it I'll tell YOU how to. And finally the book that our teacher is called: 501 SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS if you see this I recommend this book for ages maybe 8+ ,it is really fun and really you only need little bits of ingredients to make so if you see BUY...Thanks for reading, signing out iGlork!!!

Athletics Day...

Athletics Day is tomorrow and I cant wait. There's gonna be a lot of events such as: Relays (Batons), Sprints, High jump, Long Jump, Discus and MY personal favourite Shot Put, I cant wait for Shot Put because we have been doing lots of practice with the people in my age group. What I think I really need to try my hardest on is Sprints, I'm not that good but I think I will do really well, I'll try my hardest and What I think I'm best at is Shot Put (and maybe Discus), I'll have competition in both events being as that everyone wants to win so much. But overall I just really want to have some fun and try my hardest

Coke and Mentos experiment!!!

Friday last week, we did a coke and mentos's volcano. We had to plan everything, here are the steps for what MY group did: Step 1: We had to plan and think of what we were doing, like what we were going to use, how we are going to use it and and where was the best place Step 2: we made all our designs we wrote on the paper what we did first was rolled up a piece of paper and made sure there was a big side and little side so that the little bit could fit over the coke lid and then got two tooth picks and poked them through the paper (so it would hold the mentos's when we put them in) and then Step 3: we got ready and then we went out to go check what place we were going to do it in (in front of the playground) then Step 4: we pulled the 2 tooth picks out and let it rip!!! it didn't really work out how everyone would expect it to, when we pulled them out they got jammed when we pulled the paper away the ones that got stuck flew onto the floor and then only about 2-3 got in (even though 2 or 3 got in it made a pretty big explosion, well for me anyway)...Thanks for reading signing out iGlork

ANOTHER kapa haka sleepover...YES!!!

My kapa haka was really fun. We practiced lots of songs my haka, action song and the girls are learning there poi. It was ages before we had dinner but it was okay, I didn't really mind waiting it was to much fun learning the haka. For our haka we had just finished the words and at the kapa haka sleepover we were learning the actions, the actions are really cool (but at the same time very complicated)after practice we all went back to the library (because that's where we were sleeping) and got our cutlery (I didn't have any cutlery so I borrowed one that my teacher gave to me) and the teachers called out our age groups and we went out to get dinner. For dinner we had sausages, meat patties, coleslaw, steak (or some other meat) and sauce. Dinner was really YUM I ate all of it and we even got to have 2nd's!!After dinner we went straight to bed, I slept next to my homie's Vili, Waiora and Hurinui. We got to watch a movie called:Alvin and the Chipmunks, I was probably the first to go to sleep out of everyone (I was really tired after practice!!!). Then in the morning I was the first to wake up until about 5mins later this boy woke up, that boy woke up and it was just kaos everywhere but the stink thing was we weren't aloud to get up until about 10mins later this head popped up, that head popped up and then eventually we were aloud to get up and get out. Once we were up we had to fold our blankets and put them on our bed nice and tidy, then get out our plates and forks and cutlery for breakfast. Before the boys went to breakfast we had to practice our haka, after that we had some breakfast which was: Hashbrowns, sausages, buttered bread and way more. I think that breakfast was even better than dinner. after breakfast we finished up with some waiata's, our action song and my haka (they were really nerve racking to do but it was alright), then after after we packed up our stuff got in a car and rode off home...Thanks for reading, Signing out iGlork!!!

Just read!!

Just Read is a new program we are doing in class, we have heaps of activities to do (which are really fun) some of the activities that we do are: Computer Reading is, we search up some interesting facts on that topic that you chose and you CAN write it in your reading book, another is: Plays, which you can choose to go up to our resource room where all our books are and get a book from there OR just choose a book from a box in our classroom and do a play from there and here is one more: MSSR, which is my favorite and all you have to do for that is READ (which I think the R stands for at the end of MSSR) so there you go here are some of the reading things we do in class...Thanks for Reading signing out iGlork!!
